Earth Arrow

Political. Spiritual. Socially Aware. Earth Arrow is a band that always hits the stage with tongues sharp and fists strong. One minute they can be singing about being street savvy and consciously aware and the next raising their voices as offerings to the gods; all with the same level of passion and intensity.
This was their "Pachamama" album release show at The Echoplex and it was a real pleasure to hear some new songs live! I actually heard the album earlier in the day on Spotify and really enjoyed hearing the differences between the ways I rememberd hearing some songs live and the new freshly recorded versions online. Each has it's own feel and the fact that I can enjoy the both the memories of the live shows and the freshness of the new versions is a beautiful take away from essence of their sound.
The music is a smooth blend of afro-rock, funk, and tropic like jams with soulful melodies and intense breakdowns. The guitar notes soar and the bands collective instrumentation holds it down while everyone on stage puts in their creative energy and dances up a storm. It was very interesting to see that just about every member in the band sang at least one song and traded vocal duties while still supporting the overall energy of the show. Each song shared it's own message and yet they were all connected by their shared rebellious determination to raise their voice and make a statement.
The energy they bring to the stage is insane and their sense of unity inspiring. These are hard times and they aren't afraid to face it. With the power of music and mics in their hands, they look towards the future and take a stance. We cant let the chains of our past hold us down. We have to keep walking and keep pushing forward.
